Recently read a bit of background on Toby Shorin's Care Culture. And watched Skate Dreams last night, digging a lot of both pieces of work, and the people behind them.
Thinking about how individuals doing cool shit together in trusted crews are the driving force behind so many cultural phenomena... even as brands & capital forces try to lay claim and take credit for creation & expression.
Thinking about what it might mean to find and collaborate with some kind of crew... whether I can do that in my own strange & kinda antisocial way, or whether I might get more comfortable being myself and expressing something meaningful around people I can trust.
