A collage I made at the Denver Art Museum on a work trip. They had a nice little activity room with a ton of magazines, paper, and glue sticks. Had recently watch Everything Everywhere All At Once, and was also thinking about food. And thinking about poetry too.

I really like the kind of constraint that collage imposes on writing. You have all the letters you need available to you, so it’s technically possible to “write” anything you want in a collage, but it’s much easier to flow with whatever words are available in the thing you’re cutting from.
think of berries
survey the daydream
all you need
colour, texture, and even more
nestled in the hills
between fact and fantasy
carefully, finally,
everything
in our backyard
I think this is kind of about food - feeding myself well is something I feel pretty incompetent at most of the time, and would love to work on. It’s also kind of about gardening, and where we get our food, which is also something I feel pretty uninformed on. And it’s kind of about luxury; about always wanting more; about wanting the unattainable perfection of not wanting more; about trying, failing, and trying again to appreciate what's around us.
